We have been so busy this week! It is amazing how fast the time goes! This week we had a special ceremony where we planted a dogwood tree in our Tiger Garden. The tree was in memory of our custodian, Shane Cook, who passed away last fall. We were blessed to have Shane’s parents, sister, brother-in-law, and his baby niece with us for the planting. Our students showed so much respect and kindness for this family. I was very proud of them.
We also did Jump Rope For Heart on Thursday! The students had a great time jumping during their special classes. The money raised goes to the American Heart Association. Thanks Coach Bills for organizing this!
We hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend!

Getting back into the routine of school has been the order of business at Willard North. We realize we are on the downhill slide as the third quarter comes to an end today! We celebrated our students and activities at our monthly Super Tiger Celebration on Wednesday! Congratulations to our PTO and most of all our STUDENTS who read over 6,000 books during our first annual Read-A-Thon. The event grossed more that $5,000.00! Thank you Susan Wilcox, middle school librarian and Willard North Mom for helping organize this event! Thank you to Mrs. Patricia Mann, Willard North Librarian for all her hard work also! Have a wonderful weekend!

You can feel it in the air! Spring Break is just hours away! I have to say that there is about 450 0f us from Pre-K to adult that are ready for the day to be over! I was out of the building on Monday and Tuesday and I appreciate Mr. Ron Owens holding down the fort for me while I attended the Elementary Principal’s Conference at Tan Tar A. We are so proud in Willard of Julie Germann who will preside as President of our state organization. We have over 1000 members of MAESP, and knowing one of our own is at the helm is very comforting! Good Luck Julie!
I also want to congratulate the Willard Boys Basketball team for a great season! You guys made basketball addictive! It was a joy to watch you play and you represented our school so well! We are proud of you!
Have a wonderful Spring Break!

This week Willard North has celebrated Read Across America Week. We celebrated by Wearing crazy socks on Monday, Wearing Green on Tuesday for Green Eggs and Ham Day, and we wore crazy hats on Wednesday with our Willard North shirts. Yesterday, author Judy Young came and did presentations with the all the students during their special classes. The students were very excited! Today is Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss-we will have birthday cake for everyone! We have read so many books this week! It is very exciting! Just a little note about the Green Eggs and Ham, Miss Freeman’s class and Mrs. Peterson’s class brought me green eggs and ham to try this week. They said” Try them and you’ll see” Well, I tried them, but I had to shut my eyes. They tasted good. However, I think I will still prefer my eggs to be yellow!
From Willard North, we wish the boys basketball GOOD LUCK Saturday at Hammons Center! Many of us will be there to cheer them on. GO TIGERS!

The weather this week has brightened our outlooks on school! It has been great for our kids to get outside to run and play! It doesn’t hurt the outlook of our staff either! We had a great Volunteer Day with parents and volunteers getting many big projects done for us! Today is Crescent Roll day for the staff and our thanks go out to Mary Crighton for these wonderful treats! The High School Chamber Choir will be here to entertain us this afternoon and we can’t wait. We appreciate Mr. Lawley always putting us on the schedule. We also kick-off Read Across America Week with the Middle School Drama Team coming to see us!
Have a wonderful weekend!

We have been busy all week! Last night our Title One teachers had a reading night for their students! I want to thank Cyndi Clutter and Leslie Arnold for all they do to help make our readers successful. They are always supporting our staff and students and it is appreciated! Next week is a big one at Willard North. Monday, is President’s day and a snow makeup day. On Tuesday, February 20th, we will host our semi-annual volunteer day. We love to have our parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends come to help support our school. We will also have spring pictures and group pictures on Thursday for our students. We also hope the week brings some warmer weather so we can get our kids outside!
Have a wonderful weekend! Rhonda Bishop, Principal

It has been an exciting week at Willard North! We had a wonderful turnout at Willard North Night at the Lady Tigers Game. I want to thank Matt Rosebrough and Jeff Staley for helping fill in during my absence. Our 3/4th grade Honor Choir sang the National Anthem and did a great job! Our Third Grade Program was Tuesday night and very well attended. I would like to thank Miss Tricia Judd for her hard work and dedication to each of these events for our students.
Without a doubt, Willard North Rocks!

Willard North was very excited about getting into the 5 day school week routine this week! Hopefully, we will have many more! Next week we have two exciting events! We have Willard North Night at the ballgame on Monday, February 5th, and our 3rd grade program is Tuesday night February 6th. This morning we had a Ground Hog Day ceremony with our very own Puxatoni Kitty. Unfortunately, our ground hog did see it’s shadow and proclaimed that there will be 6 more weeks of winter. Hopefully, it will be the mild portion of winter! Have a wonderful week!
